1985 Schwinn Peloton (NOS?)
http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/bik/1112048808.html
Almost sure that it's a 1985. It has the same decal style as my '85 Tempo. I love the Tempo, and I know the Peloton is the top of the line from that year. $900 seems pricey though, doesn't it?

I've been lurking for one of these for quite a while and that's an incredible price; in the last week I've watched one vanish in a few seconds from the Ft. Collins CL at $300 and not much longer than that at $500 on the Dallas/Ft. Worth CL. If it's still available would someone please pack it up and send it to me? I'm fat with forbidden right now.

1972 Schwinn Paramount
"This is a 1972 Schwinn Paramount. It hasn't been ridden for decades, but everything is in good shape. It has all the original equipment in good shape. It has been stored in a garage for its entire life. I don't know the exact frame measurement, but I am 5'9", and the bike is comfortable with the seat all the way down. EDIT: It appears to be 56cm. The paint job is still good, with few blemishes (a reasonable amount for a 35 year old bike). Let me know if you would like to see more specific pictures. Price is negotiable."

I think we have the same disease--ventnoiritis (no, that sounds like a fancy way of describing GI troubles).
Anyway, I knew that one wouldn't last long.

There are a few of us who have pooled together to bid on that one. We are prepared to use pump-in-the-spokes persuasion to guarantee a successful bid....

Rumor has it the members involved are prepared go all out? If that's the case you'd be a fool to go up against them.

So who's going to be the pickup guy/gal? I assume this will be a roadtrip with a van to pick 'em up.
I've already got all the seats pulled from my mini-van to make room. I'll stop at all the college towns on the way home and sell 'em out the back of the van, keeping the best one for myself.

The Dallas bike is still available. It's been on for a while, gradually dropping price but still struggling. If it were me, I'd replace the original stem and bar (seller says -$60), put on a decent $10 Avocet saddle, get some generic (Cane Creek?) hoods and send it on its way at $400. I could live with the Shimano 600 RD in place of the correct GS.

That'd be me, for the 2 I want and one other. It isn't very far. The others will be picked up by someone local.
