Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for New York from the Philadelphia airport after attending the Quad Summit in Delaware on Saturday.

PM Modi will be attending the Summit of the Future (SOTF) at the United Nations in New York. Along with that, he will hold some key bilateral meetings.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held bilateral talks with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese on the sidelines of Quad Summit in Wilmington, Delaware and spoke on areas of mutual interest.

"Held extensive discussions with PM Albanese. We seek to add even more momentum in areas like trade, security, space and culture. India greatly cherishes the time-tested friendship with Australia", PM Modi posted on X after the summit.

After the Quad Summit in Delaware on Saturday, the partner countries said that the US Coast Guard, Japan Coast Guard, Australian Border Force, and Indian Coast Guard, plan to launch a first-ever Quad-at-Sea Ship Observer Mission in 2025.

It will be aimed at improving interoperability and advanced maritime safety, and continuing with further missions in future years across the Indo-Pacific.

Quad countries on Saturday condemnedNorth Korea’s ballistic missile launches and its continued pursuit of nuclear weapons, calling it a violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions (UNSCRs).

The Quad leaders, in a joint statement, said thatthe North's missile launches posed a grave threat to international peace and stability and asked it to engage insubstantive dialogue.

After talks between India, the US, Australia and Japan at th Quad Summit in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday, the leaders released a joint statement.

As per the statement, the Quad countries reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific that is inclusive and resilient. Speaking at the Quad leaders' Cancer Moonshot event, US President Joe Biden on Saturday said that the four countries, their leaders and many organisations are committing over $150 million for HPV screening and therapeutics.Every year, 150,000 women die from cervical cancer in the Indo-Pacific. We can't and will not let that continue. The four of us are proud democracies. We're coming together to deliver a better hope, more hope for our people, Biden added.

After PM Modi and Joe Biden's bilateral talks, the White House said that the United States and India share an enduring commitment to deepen our collaboration on issues of shared national and economic security.

It said that as an important aspect of the two countries' economic growth agendas, they were committed to working together to capture the benefits of the clean energy transition, including the creation of high-quality jobs for our populations, acceleration of clean energy deployment globally, and achievement of global climate goals.

US President Joe Biden on Saturday commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his historic visits to Poland and Ukraine and for his message of peace and ongoing humanitarian support for Ukraine, including its energy sector, and on the importance of international law, including the UN charter.

The White House said in a statement that the two leaders reaffirmed their support for the freedom of navigation and the protection of commerce, including critical maritime routes in the Middle East where India will assume co-lead in 2025 of the Combined Task Force 150 to work with Combined Maritime Forces to secure sea lanes in the Arabian Sea.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, in his address at the Quad Summit in Delaware, said that the security environment surrounding the partner countries is becoming increasingly severe and a free and open international order based on the rule of law is under threat.

Speaking at the Quad Summit on Saturday, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that it was delightful to be among friends- India, US and Japan. He also said that he was looking forward to the nex Summit to be hosted by India, adding "Unlike some international forums, the Quad doesn't have a long history. That means it's not defined by tradition, but it also means it's not confined by it".
