-송라이터라고 보이는 L. Russell Brown과 Sandy Linzer는 "Levitating"의 송라이터들이, L. Russell Brown과 Sandy Linzer이 송라이팅한 노래="Wiggle and Giggle All Night", "Don Diablo"를 이미 알고 있는 상태에서 → 두 곡을 표절해서 "Levitating"을 만들었다고 주장하고 있다. 하지만 이번 주 두아 리파 측은 "Levitating"의 송라이터들은 두 곡을 전혀 모른다고 답변했다.

그리고 L. Russell Brown과 Sandy Linzer는 "Wiggle and Giggle All Night"가 40년 전에 네덜란드에서 히트했고, 이때문에 "Levitating"의 송라이터들이 "Wiggle and Giggle All Night"을 이미 알고 있을거라고도 주장했다. 4년 전도 아닌 40년 전에 미국도 아니고 네덜란드에서 히트한 노래라서 "Levitating"에 참여한 송라이터들이 이 노래를 알거라고 주장할 줄이야. 또한 L. -Artikal Sound System은 2017년에 발매한 "Live Your Life"를 "Levitating"이 표절했다고 하는데... 이건 아래 영상 보면, Artikal Sound System이 표절 당했다고 주장하는 파트와 유사한 파트를 가진 다른 옛날 노래들이 있어서 크게 문제 될 것 같지는 않다.

​8월에 넷플릭스에서는 "드라마 샌드맨"이 공개됐는데, 이 작품은 만화를 근간으로 해서 만들어진 드라마 같다. 그리고 이 만화의 원작자 같은 사람은 이번 주에 인터뷰를 했는데, 마이클 잭슨 이야기를 했다. 원작자에 따르면 1996년에 마이클 잭슨은 "샌드맨"을 드라마로 만들고, 이 드라마에서 모르페우스를 연기하고 싶다고 해서 원작자는 워너 브라더스의 회장과 드라마 제작에 대해 이야기를 한 적이 있다고 한다. 마이클 잭슨이 원했던대로 작품이 만들어졌으면 어땠을지 궁금하다.

사와야마 리나는 이번 주에 신곡="This Hell"을 공개했다. 그리고 이번 주에 있었던 인터뷰에서 사와야마 리나는 "This Hell"을 녹음하고 보니까 기타 연주 파트가 아바의 "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)"와 비슷해서 비슷한 부분을 바꿔서 재녹음을 했다고 한다. 이유는 사와야마 리나와 함께 하는 사람들이 아바가 "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)"의 파트를 사용하는 건 허락하지 않을거라고 했기 때문이라고.

이후 사와야마 리나는 엘튼 존에게 상황 설명하고 아바 멤버들의 연락처 아냐고 물어봤는데, 엘튼 존이 아바에게 직접 연락해서 "This Hell"의 원래 버전을 발매하게 해줬다고 한다. 그래서 "This Hell"을 들어봤는데, "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)"와 비슷한 파트가 있는지는 모르겠다.

참고로 "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)"은 마돈나가 "Hung Up"에서 샘플링한 노래. 그런데 "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)"는 굉장히 올려치기 당하는 것 같다. 유럽에서는 흥하긴 했는데 정작 영국싱글차트에서는 최고순위 3위, 빌보드싱글차트는 미진입. 원래 아바가 미국에서 엄청 흥한 그룹은 아니다. 암튼 나는 마돈나가 이 노래를 샘플링한다고 했을 때, 이왕 아바의 노래를 샘플링할 거면, 미국에서 흥한 몇 안 되는 아바의 노래들 중 하나를 샘플링하지,라는 아쉬움을 느끼기도 했었다.
